Monday 9th May
Despite seemingly ideal conditions (light rain, south easterlies and high tide) there were no terns present at all over the evening tide with just two Sandwich Tern earlier in the day. Wader counts increased during the day with peaks of 62 Dunlin, 35+ Whimbrel, 25 Sanderling, 11 Bar-tailed Godwit, six Ringed Plover, two Grey Plover and a Knot. Elsewhere the Garden Warbler was still present but there were no new migrants and offshore two Great Northern Diver flew south.
