The first seven Wigeon of the autumn were in the estuary this morning with an arrival of 130+ Sandwich Tern, several of which were Dutch ringed. Other counts included 356 Redshank, 330 Dunlin, 179 Ringed Plover, including a Norwegian ringed individual, eight Common and a juvenile Little Tern, seven Greenshank, seven Sanderling, three Knot, three Whimbrel, a Snipe and the Slavonian Grebe. Several flocks of Ringed Plover and Dunlin were heading south on the evening tide. Other records included an Osprey in the estuary mid morning and single Yellow Wagtail and Wheatear.
