Sunday 10th May

A midsummer feel to proceedings although chilly in the NE wind. Waders were limited to 15 Whimbrel, three Curlew and a Redshank in the estuary with three Sanderling, two Dunlin and a Grey Plover on the beach.

Elsewhere two Swift and a House Martin were overhead and 12 Manx Shearwater were offshore.

Other Wildlife: Insect activity was limited to sheltered areas including another Alexanders Straw around the car park, and new for the year, a couple of Puss Moth, the picture-winged fly Tephritis formosaStripe-legged Robberfly Dioctria baumhaueri and 22-spot Ladybird.
