A single Balearic Shearwater flew south offshore along with four Little Egret first thing, 14 Gannet and four Manx Shearwater. Also out to sea at least 100 Kittiwake, 68 Mediterranean Gull, 11 Common and eight Sandwich Tern, with three Arctic Skua (two pale, one dark phase) amongst them and the immature male Eider was on the breakwater at Langstone Rock.

Elsewhere the first Sand Martin of the autumn was overhead with 38 Swift, and counts from the estuary included 351 Oystercatcher, 188 Curlew, 32 Redshank, six Shelduck, four Whimbrel and two Greenshank.
