Saturday 24th May

The first Storm Petrel of the year were offshore early evening with at least three birds lingering, also offshore during the day an Arctic Skua, a single Little Tern, 95+ Kittiwake, 90+ Manx Shearwater, 12 Common Scoter and a Great Northern Diver. Wader counts over high tide included 271 Oystercatcher, 154 Sanderling, 46+ Dunlin, 16 Ringed Plover, four Whimbrel, three Turnstone and two Grey Plover. Also in the estuary the summer plumaged Slavonian Grebe and two Brent Geese. Other records included two different Osprey, eight Swift and a late Sand Martin.

Wildlife News: A single Pyramidal Orchid found flowering on the edge of the Golf Course, only the second Warren record in the last 60 years.  A Painted Lady along the Dune Ridge.
