Thursday 4th January

A combination of high tide preventing access to Warren Point and the arrival of heavy rain just before 11am meant few counts from the estuary, but the regular species were all present on the rising tide. Counts did include a winter high 106 Shelduck, with 130 Grey Plover, 29 Sanderling and 23 Ringed Plover.

Before the rain there were nine Great Northern Diver close inshore between the seawall and the estuary mouth, with four Eider off Warren Point and two pairs of Shoveler on the Main Pond.
