A cold, sunny day with the wintering Dartford Warbler appearing in gorse near the Visitor Centre and the Cetti's Warbler calling from the Main Pond. Also around site at least one Siskin, the resident Buzzard, three Cirl and a Reed Bunting, with five Shoveler on the Main Pond.
In the estuary at low tide 306 Teal, 277 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 260 Black-headed and an adult Mediterranean Gull, 114 Shelduck, two Avocet and a Great Northern Diver.
Offshore 19 Great Crested Grebe, 12 Common Scoter, eight Red-throated and two Great Northern Diver.

Other Wildlife: A few overwintering insects were active including at least three Buff-tailed Bumblebee on the Hebe by the seawall, the leafhoppers Euscelis incisus and Streptanus sordidus and the fly Geomyza tripunctata.
