Wednesday 3rd May

An evening visit showed the resident and migrant breeding species on site, with Swallow also now back on territory, but there were no reports from the estuary or offshore.

Wildlife News: The damp spring has encouraged a seemingly unseasonal array of fungi with two new species for the Recording Area found, Granulated Cup Peziza granulosa and the less impressive Pyronema domesticum alongside a continuing abundance of Eyelash Cup Scutellinia scutellata.

Peziza granulosa - Debs Rylands

Pyronema domesticum - Debs Rylands
