Sunday 18th May
Another mid summer like day with nothing bar breeding residents and increasing numbers of fledgers around the bushes. In the estuary wader numbers continue to vary with each tide with counts including 443 Oystercatcher, 56 Sanderling, 38 Dunlin, 18 Curlew, hopefully migrants not failed breeders, 17 Ringed Plover, 14 Whimbrel, three Turnstone and two Grey Plover. Overhead there were 58 Swallow, seven Jackdaw, two House Martin, a Swift and a Rook.
