Thursday 18th May

Counts over high tide included 92 Sanderling, 82 Dunlin, 14 Turnstone, four Ringed Plover and two Whimbrel. It remains quiet elsewhere with just three Sandwich Tern offshore and a lone Wheatear the only migrant.

Wildlife News: Large numbers of Southern Marsh Orchid are now in flower in Greenland Lake, with Brown Argus increasing in numbers as well. Migrant insects included Red Admiral, Painted Lady and Silver Y. In the estuary two Grey Seal were on Bull Hill.
