Thursday 12th September 2013

The continuing autumnal feel was enhanced by the first Goldcrest of the season with a small arrival of migrants including 12 Chiffchaff, 10 Blackcap, two Wheatear, a Sedge and a Garden Warbler. Overhead 55+ Meadow Pipit headed west with seven Grey Wagtail and five Rook going the other day. Elsewhere 27 Common Scoter and a Red-throated Diver were offshore and in the estuary included 131+ Sandwich Tern, 30 Wigeon, seven Black-tailed Godwit, two Knot and a Mediterranean Gull.

Wildlife News: The Grey and Common Seal were together on Bull Hill this morning.
