Another large high tide wader roost on Finger Point with 1032 Oystercatcher rejoining after yesterday's absence. They remained largely unmoved by the immature ♂ Peregrine that harassed the smaller waders making other counts difficult but the flocks of c2000 Dunlin and 700+ mixed Grey Plover, Bar-tailed Godwit, Curlew, Knot and Redshank.
Also in the estuary 680+ Wigeon, 270 Teal, 87 Shelduck, the eight Eider (at high tide) and three Red-breasted Merganser. Two adult Mediterranean Gull were amongst a minimum count of 119 Common Gull, which included just two first winters.
Elsewhere a site record 24 Cirl Bunting on the Golf Course, three Redwing dropped into the bushes when mizzle descended, a pair of Shoveler were on Main Pond and two ♂ Bullfinch were in Dead Dolphin Wood. Offshore 24 Great Crested Grebe, five Red-throated and two Great Northern Diver.
