A visit on the dropping tide saw the usual waders and wildfowl present in the estuary, but many had already dispersed, so no meaningful counts were made. The eight Eider were off Warren Point again, with at least two showing immature male plumage. Opportunist Herring Gulls kept attempting to steal any food brought of the surface, causing the flock to often split up.
Elsewhere it was quiet with all Greenfinch and nearly all Goldfinch deserting Greenland Lake. Three Shoveler were on the Main Pond and a Firecrest was the best bird in the bushes.
Other Wildlife: Few insects were active with no bees or hoverflies today. but two common ground beetles were under the geotubes.
