A mid afternoon visit on the rising tide revealed the two Black-necked Grebe off Cockwood, with counts from the estuary including 265 Dark-bellied and a Pale-bellied Brent Goose, 102 Shelduck, a drake Shoveler with hundreds of Wigeon and Teal, 84 Common and two adult Mediterranean Gull, 70 Grey and 24 Ringed Plover, 44+ Knot, 26 Sanderling, nine Red-breasted Merganser, seven Greenshank and a female Goldeneye.
