Thursday 16th December

A smart male Black Redstart was an unexpected highlight, only the second of the year, it was unfortunately also brief, moving from the sea wall boulders to the go-carts and crazy golf, before presumably carrying on and moving over the railway, feeding as it went. Also on site a Jay in Dead Dolphin Wood, a Siberian Chiffchaff in the Entrance Bushes, 40 Goldfinch, three Chiffchaff and two Goldcrest.

Elsewhere 13 Red-throated and four Great Northern Diver, 66 Great-crested Grebe, 15 Guillemot, six Razorbill and a Common Scoter were offshore with 60 Snipe in the saltmarsh and the two
Black-necked Grebe in the estuary back by the Wreck.
