The two Black-necked Grebe were still in the estuary with two Goldeneye, including the first drake of the winter and 26 Red-breasted Merganser. Other wildfowl numbers had dropped considerably with just 160 Wigeon and 32 Teal in Shutterton Creek with 78 Turnstone, 40 Snipe, six Greenshank and a Mediterranean Gull.
Elsewhere 41 Great-crested Grebe, four Red-throated and a Great Northern Diver were offshore, two Shoveler were on the Main Pond, a Siberian and two Common Chiffchaff were in Dead Dolphin Wood, 40 Linnet roosted in the Buffer Zone and both Cirl Bunting and Collared Dove were in song.
Wildlife News: The sunny weather saw both Honey Bee and Buff-tailed Bumblebee nectaring on the Hebe and a Common Dronefly Eristalis tenax on Dandelion.
