Saturday 3rd May

A single Little Tern was offshore early morning along with 15 Manx Shearwater, nine Great Northern Diver, two Common Scoter, two Wigeon in off and single Mediterranean GullRed-breasted Merganser and Sandwich Tern.

Other arrivals included the year's first Hobby overhead, along with four House Martin, two Swift and a Red Kite. The latter flew low west early morning with three others offsite N along Eastdon Ridge. 

Counts from The Bight at high tide included 48 Whimbrel17 Dunlin12 Bar-tailed Godwit, nine Sanderling and seven Ringed Plover.

Other Wildlife: The first Hairy Dragonfly of the year were on the wing with singles at the Dune and Main Pond, with the first Blue-tailed Damselfly also at the Dune Pond.

Elsewhere a Sand Lizard was along the Dune Ridge and butterflies included the first Wall Brown of the year, two Large White and two Red Admiral.
