The first Cuckoo of the year was bubbling from Golf Course early morning, with a noticeable increase to 12 Whitethroat and a Red Kite low NE the only other migrants.

Counts from the estuary included 210 Oystercatcher, 16 Sanderling, 15 Ringed and a Grey Plover, 13 Whimbrel, 12 Bar-tailed Godwit, 10 Dunlin and a Greenshank

Elsewhere 12 Manx Shearwater, six Great Northern Diver, two Sandwich Tern and the immature male Eider were offshore, both pairs of Little Grebe have hatched young at the Main Pond and a pair of calling Tawny Owl arrived from the mainland just after 11pm.

Other Wildlife: A new beetle for the Recording Area was discovered in The Bight, a Dyschirius politus, mirroring the finder in hunting for Bledius rove beetles.

The first two Red Admiral of the year were on the wing along with the hoverfly Smudge-veined Clubtail Neoascia podagrica and the scorpion fly Panorpa germanica
